The Virginia Gildersleeve International Fund (VGIF) is a charitable, nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering women and girls in developing countries. This is accomplished through $5,000 to $7,500 project grants and other activities that promote gender equality, educational equity, and economic sustainability. In recent years, these projects included community development, such as bringing potable water to villages; educational opportunities for girls; job skills and literacy training for women; programs about health care, including HIV-AIDS, malaria and sexual/reproductive health; and campaigns against domestic violence.

Donations to VGIF are tax deductible to the extent provided under the US tax code.  VGIF is a 501(c)(3), tax exempt organization.
